From the voices of Tom Milano and Nancy Weigandt, “it takes a huge effort and many volunteers to hold an event like this”. Despite a little drizzle throughout the day, there was lots of sunshine inside the hoop house where the festivities took place. There was something for everyone ~ fantastic music provided by the New Mayflies, creative rock and face painting, great food, “Save the Monarch Butterfly” display table, an Earth Loom, pollinator-friendly plants for sale, terrific raffle prizes, positive energy, camaraderie, uplifting conversations and friendship all taking place in this beautiful environment. Detroit Abloom is truly one of my “happy places” in the “D”. If you’ve never visited, be sure to put this on your “Places to Visit” 2020. It is truly a little slice of heaven right in our own backyard.
