On Saturday, July 25, from 11am to 3pm, East English Village throws open the gates to eight of its most loved gardens — a self-guided walk through one of Detroit's most storied neighborhoods.

You'll move from gardens that have been decades in the making, shaded by mature canopy and shaped by generations of hands, to younger plots still finding their shape — proof that great gardens aren't bought, they're grown. Along the way you'll pick up ideas, swap notes with the people who tend them, and see what's possible behind the brick-and-Tudor facades EEV is known for.

Tickets are $15 and on sale now at eastenglishvillage.org. Every ticket supports the neighborhood association and the work of keeping East English Village beautiful.

Bring comfortable shoes, a water bottle, and someone who'll slow down with you.
